    • FORT WORTH, Texas - Alfred E. Banta, 90, of Fort Worth, Texas, formerly of Cadiz, loving husband, fa- ther, grandpa and "Paw Paw" went to be with Jesus on Sunday, Sept. 28, 2003. He was born on March 14, 1913, in Bishop, Calif., to the late Abraham and Cora Banta. He retired from the U.S. Air Force as a Master Sergeant, and then had a career with the Cadiz Divi- sion of the General Tele- phone Company. Alfred was a member of Harrison Hills United Pen- tecostal Church, where he served as the Sunday School Superintendent and as an Elder for many years. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Martha Esther Rose Banta; his five chil- dren and their families, Da- vid and Jeanne Banta of Hamilton, Ohio, Bonnie May and David Ward of East Africa, Tim and Pam Banta of Pickerington, Ohio, Mary Ann and Mike Chapman of Fort Worth and Martha Jane and Bruce Thompson of Richmond, Ind.; 15 grandchildren; 22 great- grandchildren;and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives. Friends are welcome on Friday from 6-9 p.m. at the Harrison Hills United Pen- tecostal Church where ser- vices will be held on Satur- day, Oct. 4, at 11 a.m. with Rev. J. Hugh Rose officiat- ing. Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery, Jewett. Full military graveside ser- vices will be conducted by the Cadiz American Legion Post 34. Arrangements by Bor- koski Funeral Home, 555 E. Market., Cadiz, Ohio.
